About the Exhibition

This is the story of a journey. A pilgrimage. One whose premise was very simple:
What happens when you entirely give yourself to the Dharmic practices of the ancients? Whoever of us have read them, or some of them, have certainly noticed benefits in our lives. But what happens when I test these practices with my life itself on the line? Will they be enough to ensure my survival through a 600-km journey on foot, crossing icy 5'000-meter mountain passes and sleeping in the snow?
Will they make me happy, fulfilled, any wises, or dead?
Let's test this all the way, like a scientist with an open mind, was Ben's premise as he left his home in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, on a strictly-walking pilgrimage to Leh. With him he took one book - The 37 Bodhisativa Practices by Tibetan master Tokmé Zangpo.
And he dedicated each day to following one - just one - of the practices as closely as he possibly could, in the same order as they were given.
The photos in this exhibition were kept as chronological and date-specific as possible to faithfully portray what happened every day - both internally and externally. For each photo, you will find a day number which corresponds to the same page from the Bodhisattva practices, followed by the original Tibetan text, then the English translation, and finally Ben's comment in relation to the journey.
If I dive into these teachings with body, speech and mind... let's see what happens.
