Ecologies of Water-care in the Himalayas, Ladakh

This project was initiated based on a shared concern for water in the Changthang region, based on issues relating to a water crisis there, pace at which glaciers are retreating, proglacial lake formations, ecological shift in Ladakh and a loss of local knowledge on the subject. It aims to understand the convergence of science and local cultural wisdom for possible solutions, and art interventions to better understand the situation. The project is being done in collaboration with the Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences, Lucknow, who are working with the University of the West of England, Bristol (UK).
